Main Types of Connections
The are several types of connections through out the world but we carry ones specific to the USA: Chemtron, Ohmeda, Puritan, Schrader, and DISS. Additionally, flowmeters can be for any type of gas where you need to control how much gas is needed on a volume by time basis. The primary flowmeter we encounter are oxygen flowmeters going up to 15 LPM (liters per minute).
How to Choose the Right Fitting
Choosing the right fitting can be difficult. There are a bunch of options such as: barbed or threaded (NPT), 1/8″ or 1/4″ or 5/16″, or male or female. Bell Medical will help you choose the right fittings for your needs. Gas Color Codes
There are bunch of colors and they all go with a different gas. The primary color codes are: Green (Oxygen, O2), Blue (Nitrous Oxide, N2O), Purple (Waste Gas Disposable, WAGD), Black (Nitrogen, N2), White (Medical Vacuum), and Yellow (Medical Air). Using the color codes, it helps to match up the the inlets and outlets from the machine to the wall or manifold.
